Planted and growing!

The majority of the sweet corn is in the ground! I am expecting an earlier crop this year (late July). The weather has been great so far. Praise the Lord!

Ripe, ripe, and "Oh, no!"

There always comes a time of year when I am reminded corn season cannot last forever. Yes, you guessed it, I am thinking that right now. In fact I am placing a date on the finite amount of time left with corn. Thursday the 8th will be the last day.

Let there be no "frowny faces." This has been a wonderful year and I feel truly blessed! The Lord sent the rain at just the right time for each new batch of corn that had to ripen. In the spirit of the Psalmist, I wish to use these finances to give glory back to God:
But I will hope continually,
And will praise You yet more and more.
My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness
And Your salvation all the day,
For I do not know their limits.
I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD;
I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only.
O God, You have taught me from my youth;
And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.
Ps. 71:14-17
That is why I am dedicating my finances this year to my video ministry. Please pray that the Lord can use that and direct me in how to speak through this medium.

Below are a few pictures of the corn.

The Corn is here!

I have been selling corn in the "little red house" for almost two weeks now. Hitting the heart of the season now, the corn is plentiful and at its best. It is large, worm free, juicy, and of course sweet.

I am also selling my sweet corn to Nilssen's SuperValu in Baldwin and Ormson's SuperValu in Glenwood City.

Pictures of the corn are still to come. Stay posted!

Corn in the Making

It's silky smooth...

...the silk leads to a miniature cob...

...yes, the tassels mean pollinization...

...and a whole field means lots of corn for you!

Slowly but surely!
I stated earlier the corn will be later than last year. That is true. Now I can tell you that it will be exactly 10 days later than last year.
Are you ready?
The starting date is the 1st of August. Again you can find my corn first at the little red shack at the bottom of our driveway (see the map on the side panel). Also, I will be supplying Nilssen's SuperValu in Baldwin for the extent of my season.

Below are a few more pictures of the ripening corn.

A new season ~ more of your favorite corn

I am getting excited as I see the seedlings poking out of the ground. It signals a new year!

Whats new?
I have been able to expand my market this year to Nielsen's SuperValu in Baldwin. Because of them I will also be growing more sweet corn over all. The larger amount that I'll grow should mean that I can continue reasonable prices for you, the consumer.

When will it be ready?
This is everyones question and anyone's guess. Because of the cool spring it will definitely be later than last year. My guess is that it will be ready for the first few days of August and continue through early-September.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you soon!

Corn almost over

Yes, I'm sure that this is sad new for those corn lovers, but it cannot last forever. The corn will go no more than a few days into the week of the 30th. So you can come and pick up your last taste of this corn. The size is still good and only a few worms are inching their way in.

Great Corn for the weekend

The sweet corn is growing full speed again. This means that there are nice, large, and (best of all) juicy cobs out in the stand. Below are a few pictures of the stand and a ear of corn that I opened up.
Notice again the bulk deal that I am running this year:
8 or more dozen for $2.50
